With a focus on sustainability and an eye on the future, we consider environment as a key factor in delivering our contribution to top-tier commercial spaces.

WeWork 100 Harris St

Date Delivered: 2016

Builder: Lend Lease

Architect: Crone Architects

In 2016, WeWork's first two Australian office products, both in Sydney, were delivered to support the global co-working provider's rapid expansion. The team implemented low cost, rapid-speed fit-outs to kick off the company's assertive venture into the Australian market. The second office project, located at 100 Harris Street in Pyrmont, Sydney, was valued at $18 million and encompassed approximately 8,200 square metres.

The projects not only represented WeWork's first shared office products locally, but also proved an important litmus test for translating its US-originated design approach into an Australian standard that could be rolled out to other locations.

Completed in 2012 at a cost of $500 million, Commonwealth Bank Place features 58,000 sqm of commercial office space fully occupied by the Commonwealth Bank.

The building scored 81 points out of a possible 100, exceeding the 6 Star benchmark of 75 points.

Sustainability initiatives include a high-performance façade, energy-efficient lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, rainwater harvesting and re-use, as well as trigeneration and onsite blackwater treatment systems.

The building generates 50 per cent less greenhouse gas emissions than an average commercial office building and consumes 80 per cent less drinking water.  This is equivalent to taking 680 cars off the road and saving 13 Olympic swimming pools of water each year.
